This week we sat down with Jive A&R consultant Kevin Shine and his associate, the lovely, Ms. Crunk. Kevin has relocated to Atlanta from Chicago and he has been charged by Jive with the task of finding the hottest artists, songwriters and producers in Atlanta.
It’s a big task but he’s hit the ground running. In this interview, he talks about a number of events that he’s planning, all of which are designed to bring the ATL talent to the forefront.
Kevin doesn’t pull any punches. He says exactly what he feels. He drops a lot of wisdom for those who long to be in the industry. He also gives honest opinions about what’s right and wrong with Atlanta’s showcase scene. Take a listen.. it’s an hour packed with rare insight.
Also look out for the Writing Sessions Live @ SAE on January 14th and The Premier A&R Showcase on Feb 5, 2009 at Sugar Hill. Listen to the show or contact us for more details.

This is just a segment of the full show but we’re posting it now cause the streets are demanding the latest.
We talked with Johnnie Cabbell of Hitt Afta Hitt Entertainment. He’s a power player here in Atlanta managing the careers of Shawty Lo, Fabo, Young Ralph, D4L and the list goes on.
I can’t begin to describe all the jewels of wisdom that Johnnie drops in this interview:
Trust me, if you’re trying to succeed in the music industry, this is the interview you need to listen to.
Of course, he had to speak on the Shawty Lo TI beef. Plus, when is that Fabo CD dropping?
Make sure you at the Launch Party for his new TV network (HAH TV) going down Dec 10th @ Pure.

Our good friend Rovella Williams from Verseus Entertainment stopped by the studio. We had a blast in the studio. Number of subjects came up including whether we love or hate Kanye West’s AutoTune experiment.
In addition Eric and Rovella talk about why they LOVE twitter and why every musician needs to get a twitter account as soon as possible. If you’re on twitter, hit Eric up at twitter.com/ericmakesmusic.
Rovella has a great event coming up next week in Atlanta. it’s her first R&B showcase at Sugar Hill and it should be a great event. If you’re there, you’ll see us there.
